Y2 Foxes 2025-26
Current Learning
This term, our focus is Light and Dark. We will be developing our investigation skills throughout this topic to understand that light comes from a variety of sources, including natural and artificial light.
Our Writing focus will start with, 'The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark.' Year 2 will write their own narrative based on Plop, the owl. We will then move onto 'Meerkat Christmas', where we will explore non-fiction text, with a focus on postcards.
In Maths, we will start of the term by continuing our addition and subtraction learning. We will explore shapes through continuous provision- identifying 2D and 3D shapes, before moving onto lines of symmetry.
This term will also have a historical focus on significant people and events. We are focusing on the work of Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole.
