Current Learning
This term, the children will be exploring our theme ‘Over Land and Sea’. In Geography, they will learn about the countries of the United Kingdom, use maps to locate them, and compare features of Crowborough with the seaside town of Eastbourne. In Science, the class will be investigating seasonal weather, recognising weather symbols and carrying out simple tests to measure wind and rain. They will also look for signs of spring and observe how day length changes as we move towards summer.
In English, the children will be learning about Grace Darling, using research and role-play to help them write information sentences and diary entries. They will continue building their reading comprehension and vocabulary through weekly shared books. In Maths, they will begin by exploring volume and capacity, then move on to multiplication and division through practical activities, before finishing the term with an introduction to fractions.
The children will also enjoy learning new skills across the wider curriculum, including video recording in Computing, cooperative play and respectful relationships in PSHE, and discovering the Christian Creation Story in RE. In PE, they will focus on developing their throwing, catching and aiming skills in preparation for Sports Day. It promises to be an exciting and busy term of learning!
