Current Learning

This term, our learning will be centred around the exciting topic “Once Upon a Time,” with a focus on traditional tales. We will explore a range of familiar and well-loved stories, including Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Through reading and storytelling the children will develop their understanding of story structure, characters and settings while enjoying the magic of classic tales.

In Science, we will continue our learning about materials. The children will plan and carry out simple investigations, using their knowledge of different materials and their properties to make predictions and test ideas. This hands-on approach will help them develop important scientific skills such as observing, questioning and recording results.

Our Art lessons this term will focus on collage techniques, inspired by the work of artist Henri Matisse and illustrator Eric Carle. The children will explore colour, shape, and texture, learning how to cut, layer and arrange materials to create their own amazing artwork.
