New Reception September 2020

WELCOME to Ashdown Primary.

We are really conscious that the beginning of your child's time with us will not happen in the way it would usually due to the Covid19 and the associated control measures.

This page of the website will contain all the information we would usually give to you at the new parents' events, as well as some things you wouldn't normally get, like videos from staff...etc.

Some of our reception parents have created a Facebook Group for parents of new starters, to allow sharing of information and help with getting to know each other.  If you would be interested in joining this, the name of the group is Ashdown Primary School September 2020 Starters - you will need to send a request to join.  This group is run by parents for parents and is not endorsed by school.  Ordinarilly we would not be advertising Facebook groups through the school, but we recognise that these are not ordinary times and the new starters have not had the transition visits that they usually would have.

We have the plans for your child's year group made already, we are now just waiting on the Department for Education (DfE) to release their next guidance on dates and protocols for full opening of schools before we roll it out.

In the meantime, please avail yourself of everything on the website, ensure your admissions form is returned to the school, and we will keep you updated.

Email Information from School

You should already have received an email from school with the following documents:

If you have not received this, please check your spam inbox.  If you know of any other parents who are also joining us in September, please could you make them aware of this.

To get you off to a flying start, here are videos of the Owls' and Ladybirds' teachers reading stories. Click on the link to start watching:

Mrs McAteer reads (and signs) "Dear Zoo"
