Current Learning

This term, Year 5 will not be swimming. Instead, pupils will enjoy two PE lessons each week, on Monday and Tuesday.

Summer Term Update

Summer uniform is now permitted. Please see our Uniform Policy on the website for full details. Children may choose to wear summer dresses, shorts, or short‑sleeved shirts. No ties are worn with short sleeves, but ties are still required with long‑sleeved shirts. Tights may not be worn with summer dresses.

In English, we will be exploring The Nowhere Emporium by Ross MacKenzie before moving on to the poetry unit “Still I Rise” inspired by Maya Angelou.

In maths, children will develop their understanding of shape, angles, position, and direction, including symmetry, reflection, and translation.

Our history topic asks “What was the impact of the Romans?” We will study Roman entertainment, art, army strategies, and Boudicca’s influence.

In art, we will explore colour theory and use this to design modern mosaic floors.

READING, READING, READING

We would really like EVERYONE to focus on finding books that they love, getting lost in great stories, and sharing those fantastic stories with us all at school.

We are asking all children to read for pleasure at least 4 times a week and using Timestables Rockstars at least three times a week.
