In 4 Willow this year, Mr Wardroper will be teaching alongside Mrs Berry, Mrs Lippett and Miss Owens. Mrs Berry will be covering PPA sessions.

A termly 'Year 4 Learning Letter' will outline the subjects that we will be covering, and if you wish to view your our curriculum in more detail, our curriculum plans are available on the website. Our PE slot is set for Wednesday afternoons so all 4 Willow children should arrive at school on Wednesday morning dressed in their PE kits, which they will keep on for the entire day. As PE lessons will be held outside for the foreseeable future, we also advise that the children bring a lightweight raincoat which they can use in case of inclement weather). Finally, on the subject of PE, our year 4 children are due to begin swimming lessons in February. We will let you all know, in due course, whether (and how) this will be going ahead.

While we are currently unable to organise any trips, the year 4 teachers are looking into the possibility of arranging visitors or zoom based workshops.

The children will still be expected to complete a weekly 'Home Learning' sheet. This will be downloadable via the website. We are currently asking that hard copies of completed home learning are not brought into school. In order to facilitate your learning at home, we will also provide an answer sheet to accompany the learning. Please spend no longer than 30 minutes on this as it is designed to be a refresher for learning the children have done in their previous week of school.

The children will also be provided with a range of optional online learning to complete at home. MyMaths challenges will be regularly updated to reflect our current school topics. We also encourage the children to use Times Tables Rockstars as a booster to their times tables learning within school hours.

Finally, we would also encourage children to read at home at least three times a week. Please make a log of reading. The children will be given colour banded books to read during certain periods of the school day. Currently, we are unable to send these home. We will, of course, inform you when this situation changes.
