3 Acer 2024
In our classroom the saying " I can't" is banned and we replace that with "I can". I can do this and I will try my best to do this!
In line with out school policy we have temporarily stopped homework. At home we would like you to read at least 4 times a week and record this on Boom reader and Practice your times tables on times table rockstars!
We would like EVERYONE to read as much as possible . Find a book you love and get lost in some fantastic stories!
Our topic for term 1 is local History. We will be learning lots about the local area and how our school and Crowborough has changed over the years. We will receive a visit from the Crowborough Mayor talking to us about how the role of Mayor has changed in Crowborough over the years too.
Our Term 2 topic poses a question" How do images move?" We will be looking at the history of animation and how images have changed over time. We will also be studying Hinduism in RE and have a fantastic workshop coming up soon too!
Our topic for term 3 is all about the Stone age. We will be looking at life in the stone age, rock types in our science and recreating stone age art during our art lessons. We will receive a visit from a clay workshop.
Our topic for term 4 is all about farm to fork. We will be looking at how a working farm works and will have a school trip to Middle farm for this. In English we will also be studying the book Charlotte's Webb and link this to our learning about farms.
In term 5 we will be learning about living in our community and looking at what our local area has to offer in terms of the High Weald and its "Area of outstanding natural beauty." Our writing will be inspired by dragons and we will be reading "The boy who grew dragons." This will inspire our writing, reading and art work this term.
Sports day is also coming up on Friday 23rd May.
